I’ve gone from a complete novice to a competitive cyclist in under two years of training with Paul.

He has endless knowledge and passion and has guided me through every step, from understanding power numbers to fuelling and recovery.

What’s made the biggest difference is how brilliantly Paul tailors everything around my busy work week.

The sessions are structured so I can train hard but still recover properly and stay sharp for work. I never feel overloaded or burnt out but have been consistently improving week after week.

He really understands how to get the best out of you, even when life is full on.

Working with Paul has been like having a constant teammate — always there to celebrate the highs and guide me through the lows.

He’s not just a ‘once-a-week phone call’ coach, he genuinely cares about his riders and is available whenever needed.

His sessions are tailored not only to the events I’m targeting but also to me as an individual.

When I moved to Spain, I was struggling with my previous coach, and a teammate suggested I speak to Paul. After sending him my Training Peaks, he called me within two days to discuss what might not be working.

I started with him the next day and didn’t looked back.

Paul takes the time to understand each rider, recognising that every cyclist is unique — and that makes all the difference.

I was coached by Paul for almost 2 years.

After being pretty overtrained with another coach, being with Paul was a breath of fresh air.

He taught me that rest is just as important as training hard. I learned so much with Paul, he would always explain why I needed to do a certain training session which I loved.

This has also helped me in my future with different coaches and now also as I have started coaching some of my own athletes!

Thank-you Paul for the great few years together.

Working with Paul Delani at Winding Roads was a huge part of my development as a rider.

Through my junior and under-23 years, Paul helped me build structure in my training, balance road and cyclo-cross, and prepare properly for the biggest races.

His guidance and belief in me were a massive influence, from standing on the podium at the World Championships to taking the step up to professional.

His approach kept me progressing every year and helped me reach the top.

“From our first conversation I knew Paul was going to be a great teacher.

His caring and understanding approach, coupled with intentional listening was paramount to improving my cycling ability.

What has made Paul such a great coach for me, is the shared joy that comes from your improvement and learning throughout the process.

Every time a fitness mile was achieved or new skill learned his joy matched my own, which made the process even more enjoyable.

His calm and supportive approach will set you up for success within cycling and even in any challenges you may face outside of the sport.

I came to Paul as a complete novice. When I say novice, I really do mean the very beginning - I'd bought a bike less than a year previous and after enjoying my first ever race that summer, I decided to take the leap and see how far I could get with gravel racing.

I chatted to Paul about my ambitious goals, and we made a plan.

Fast forward 2 years and I've raced all over the world, from age group through to elite level.

I've seen multiple podiums, qualified and raced the Gravel World Championships twice and progressed quicker than I ever thought possible. Not a brag - A testament to Paul's invaluable knowledge and guidance!

The journey has not been straightforward. With illness and all the stress life can throw at you, Paul has been the constant. Always there, always supporting. Always looking for a solution and how to get the best from you.

'Coach' doesn't really do him justice.

I can't thank him enough.

Paul has been my coach since the start of 2024 and has managed to transform me through illness and injuries to levels I wouldn't have thought is possible and couldn't recommend him enough.

Paul is very motivated and dedicated in wanting his rider to achieve the most as possible and I achieved the most I could all thanks to Paul.

In the summer of 2024 it was a start of a 6month period of illness and Paul stayed consistent in his contact with me and top level advice in trying to help me get back to a stage where I could ride my bike again.

Coming into the 2025 season I had no fitness and no goal for the season apart from being able to do some local races at the end of the year hopefully with a bit of fitness.

But this was achieved so quickly due to the training schedule I had in place. Paul took me from barely being able to ride at 200w to placing 4th in a uci race and winning 2 Belgium nationals within 7months of training and couldn't thank or recommend him enough and I wouldn't be where I have got to today without his dedication and knowledge.

I've been working with Paul since Spring 2025, and its been one of the best decisions for my cycling that I've made!

On the training side, Paul's coaching has enabled me to increase performance and sustainability - I've gotten stronger while also never feeling burnt out or overtrained.

More than ever, I have the ability to smash ride after ride after ride. Paul's got the pedigree of coaching at the World Tour level, so I've had total faith in the longevity of his approach, faith that's been backed by on-the-bike feeling. Paul's also shared expert nutritional advice with me to fuel my performance gains.

He's drastically improved how my off-the-bike work accelerates my on-the-bike work.

On the mentor side, Paul has  been instrumental in keeping me on a right/productive/healthy path. He's helped me bounce back from crashes and illnesses, adjust training and expectations after experiencing a loss in my family, and set ambitious but achievable goals for 2026 and 2027. He's been as much a friend as he has been a coach.

Needless to say, I've loved working with Paul and would 100% recommend him to anyone looking to take their cycling to the next level

Having worked with Paul for years at this point, we have a great relationship and he has really built the trust needed between athlete and coach.

He understands what it takes to make a great athlete, guiding me through training and balancing that with life and all that comes off the bike too.

I'm a faster and more capable rider thanks to Paul, he knows when to pull back, when to push on, and doesn't chase trends or fads, just solid consistent training that really works.

A great coach, a mentor, and exactly who you want in your corner!

I worked with Paul for two years, and from the very beginning he identified key areas I was missing that helped me get much more out of myself.

My 2022 season was full of challenges with illness and injuries, but Paul was always there to guide me through those tough periods and help me get back to fitness.

For me, a coach is a cornerstone of performance – not just someone who sets training sessions, but someone who stands by you through thick and thin, when many others don’t.

That’s exactly what Paul provided, and it made a real difference to my journey.

Paul was the coach on a cycling camp I attended in France.

Paul immediately sussed out my strengths and weaknesses and gave me helpful tips and exercises that I could start putting into practice during the camp rides.

I felt so much more confident by the end of the few days, especially descending sharp corners which I hadn’t done a lot of previously.

Paul always took the time to explain things in a way we could relate to, no matter our experience level.

I would recommend Paul as a coach to anyone looking to improve their cycling skills and knowledge, whatever their level.

I met Paul on a cycling vacation organised by a mutual friend who recruited him to give the crew of riders support for the week. And he sure delivered!

He had some insight and wisdom for each of us, a group ranging from neo-pro to ‘gracefully slowing down’. For myself, Paul immediately eyeballed my riding position and made some

recommendations. I

’m a longtime cyclist but have had several lower body surgeries in the last few years and my old riding position wasn’t doing me any favours. We made some tweaks and changes on the road and this was instrumental in getting my body over the climbs during our camp.

In addition, Paul was super friendly, full of contagious energy, and always had an inspiring story or experience to boost the vibe.

Highly recommend!
